Section 2: Volume & Sizing Rules
2. Volume Limits: The 3 cubic metres (3m³) Rule
City of Armadale enforcement officers monitor collection piles. Exceeding volume limits or placing prohibited items risks non-collection tags and litter compliance infringement notices.
⚠️ Key Set-Out Requirements:
Total verge pile volume cannot exceed
3 cubic metres (3m³)
(approximately two standard box trailers). Keep piles neatly stacked at least 1m away from public utilities, street signs, and council verge trees.
- Branches must be cut to maximum 1.5m lengths and under 150mm (15cm) in diameter.
- Maximum 3 cubic metres (3m³) of green waste per residential property.
- No bagged green waste — green waste must be loose and neatly stacked with cut ends facing the street.
- No timber fencing, pallets, treated pine, or stumps over 150mm diameter (these belong in General Junk or private tip run).
- Keep piles at least 1 metre away from street trees, power poles, water meters, and fences to prevent contractor crane damage.
